Order of Worship—John 15.12-17

Prelude

Announcements and Welcome

Call to Worship

(Ps. 116:12-19) 12 What shall I render to the LORD for all his benefits to me?  13 I will lift up the cup of salvation and call on the name of the LORD,  14 I will pay my vows to the LORD in the presence of all his people.  15 Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints.  16 O LORD, I am your servant; I am your servant, the son of your maidservant. You have loosed my bonds.  17 I will offer to you the sacrifice of thanksgiving and call on the name of the LORD.  18 I will pay my vows to the LORD in the presence of all his people,  19 in the courts of the house of the LORD, in your midst, O Jerusalem. Praise the LORD!

Hymn No. 6 “How Great Thou Art”

Pastoral Prayer

Hymn No. 156 “Jesus, What a Friend for Sinners”

(1 Cor. 3:4-11)  4 For when one says, “I follow Paul,” and another, “I follow Apollos,” are you not being merely human?  5 What then is Apollos? What is Paul? Servants through whom you believed, as the Lord assigned to each.  6 I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth.  7 So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth.  8 He who plants and he who waters are one, and each will receive his wages according to his labor.  9 For we are God’s fellow workers. You are God’s field, God’s building.  10 According to the grace of God given to me, like a skilled master builder I laid a foundation, and someone else is building upon it. Let each one take care how he builds upon it.  11 For no one can lay a foundation other than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.

Hymn No. 346 “The Church’s One Foundation

Sermon—John 15:12-17 “Loving Other Leaky Pots”

Hymn No. 234 “When I survey the Wondrous Cross”

Benediction

(2 Pet. 1:3-8) 3 His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence,  4 by which he has granted to us his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire.  5 For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue, and virtue with knowledge,  6 and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with steadfastness, and steadfastness with godliness,  7 and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love.  8 For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they keep you from being ineffective or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Let’s love one another and bear much fruit for God’s glory! Make every effort!
