When I am asked to lead the congregation in a prayer of confession, I take some of the content from the Scripture reading that takes place just before the prayer. I also include things from the sermon text and themes. And finally, I just observe things in my own life that I fail at that might apply individually or corporately. I also anticipate the assurance of pardon as well. This prayer of confession includes themes from Psalm 80 and the sermon theme of church membership.
Sorry…I have been away for a while. Unfortunately, I am no longer pastoring at Union Hill Baptist Church. We are in transition right now. I am working on our next assignment from the Lord. We are very excited about this next chapter and we look forward to some fruitful ministry opportunities ahead. Maybe the context will return very soon. We are close to finding out what is next. Pastors, assistant pastors, elders, and even aspiring to be pastors are invited to our first Healthy Pastors Conference.
